School Nurse Administrator
The School Nurse Administrator role is a registered nurse who specializes in working with educational staff to promote health and wellness by identifying risks within the learning environments.
Develop and implement policies, protocols, and standards of care to meet a wide variety of health-related needs in the school environment.
Provide consultation on school health issues.
Provide oversight on continuing education for school health personnel.
Manage the School-Based Medication Administration Program.
Oversee the mandated student health screenings including vision, hearing, posture, and BMI.
Collaborate with the MDPH Immunization and Epidemiology Programs to assure infection control in the schools.
Provide training on Blood Borne Pathogens Provide ongoing policy development for school health service programs, in collaboration with categorical MDPH programs, the MDOE, DMA and other state agencies.
Policies address both student and educator health.
Assist the Human Resources Administrator in developing and/or disseminating health promotion materials to SCEC employees.
